July Match: The weather really heated up. So much so, there was even talk of starting summer time matches earlier. Someone said 8:00 someone else said 7:00. Yea right must have been some type of sun delirium. Nevertheless sixteen shooters saw it to the end. Ron W. won the match and two stages. Pete was only one second behind and won one stage. Art finished third overall with two stage wins. Dan won the Limited division with second going to Cedric. Nelson showed some signs hes getting the hang of that long barreled, iron sighted K-frame. Joe, whos becoming a regular, shot limited as well. As a matter of record, for the first time that I recall, limited shooters out numbered open. In fact more then twice as many. Hmmm whats that all about. Welcome back to Mike and Gregg. Apologies to Rich. Due to sun delirium I ran off without his stage descriptions and had to make up some rather dull stage names. The stages: Zig Zag; three huge barriers had you snaking downrange and engaging paper and steel at the corners, watch out for the fault lines. Left to Right; start in the box and engage the 6 paper two rounds, slant down range and from the next box engage two paper and two poppers left hand then the two papers and two plates right hand. Steel; five plates at a fair distance with a wide spread and a big plate a long way away in the middle, best four of five. Bowling; hold the bowling ball at the top of the ramp, at the signal let it go, about 2 seconds later a scissor is activated that gives about 1.5 seconds to engage the paper before all that remains is no shoot and C, two other paper nearby then move left downrange and get three more paper then left and down range again for six poppers, very inventive, very fun. Side To Side (CS03-02); two arrays of three paper each angling downrange toward each other, from the box engage the three paper on the strong side strong hand only two rounds each then the weak side weak hand only two rounds then all of them freestyle one round each, one string. Club Match: The next club match on August 9th is still wanting for stage design and setup. If you have something or soon will, let Ron W. know. The September 13th , October 11th and November 8th matches are called for by Ron J., Ron W./Rich and the Postal match but not necessarily in that order. At last look a few of the stages for the December match were called for. If youre interested in getting in on the drawing for stage setup August is becoming one of the few remaining openings. IRC: There were lots of good things to say about this years IRC and nary a single negative was heard uttered. The results are posted on ICORE's web page. A few Wheelburners mentions; Hernandez 6th overall and 1st open senior. Miles 3rd open senior+. Nasef 4th limited senior. Metz 4th open senior+. Little 4th open lady. Ichikawa 5th limited lady. Zavada 8th open. Renny 12th open. Williamson 13th open. Yoshimura 18th limited. Far & Near easily survived an attempt to modify or remove its appearance at future IRCs.
