Members Update

Tim Teigen rejoined us for the Rimfire event. Occasional shooter Jaime Mendoza attended the revolver match. No more speed loaders for Gregory who brought his freshly moon clipped revolver and Pete who’s been toying with limited got a bit more serious, bringing a newly acquired limited 633. A scandium frame with tensioned barrel from the Performance Center. He handled it pretty well too. Mike T having a similar dilemma went with limited too. Rhonda, Ky-Won and world traveler Harry, showed up as well.

Revolver Match Report

A few shooters who had not visited the web site recently, arrived to find this wasn’t an all classifier match. Instead a few knock offs of stages to be seen at the regional. No one complained though. Derek won the match handily taking four stages. Mike D. won the remaining stage. Mike T at first limited.

The stages: Danger(CS-027); This classifier has four boxes zigzagging down range with 6 papers at the end. From each box engage each paper with one round. Puzzle; Five steel plates, each of a different shape. Best four of five runs. Far & Near; One more time in May then we put it away. Nutso; Four boxes set at about 40 yards, 30 yards, 20 yards and 10 yards from 4 papers. From each box engage its associated paper 6 rounds. Then move diagonally to the fifth box and engage the three papers two rounds each with both strong and weak hands. Scooter; Three boxes set on the 180. In front of each at about 15 yards were three paper and three steel. From each box engage the associated paper and engage the associated steel to fall from the right of the box.

Rimfire Match Report

Ky-Won returned from a shooting sabbatical to push Art, finishing a scant second behind. Derek dominated two handgun stages, but Mr. Rifle was not his friend at this match. While no one was watching, Tim sneaked in at 3rd place in Open. Dan outlasted Cedric to win Limited and take the point lead. Point standings for the Rimfire Championship are shown below. First place gets 10 points, second gets 8, third gets 7 and so on - every shooter gets at least 1 point. Total points accumulation end with the November match. Cash prizes will be awarded thru 3rd place in Open and Limited at the Turkey Shoot.

Stage Contribution Drawing

We seem to just be pushing our 2006 stage contributor awards ceremony further along, but we promise to have the drawing at the May match when everyone is in town. Contributors are shown and we have added credits for other club support like cooking and range cleanup. Winner does not have to be present to claim the prize.

May Rimfire Match

Most of the serious shooters will be up in Morro Bay at the Ruger Rimfire Championships, but we will have a rimfire event for those who wish to come out and have a fun day. Impromptu stage design as usual - come early and help set 'em how you like to shoot. Shoot with .22 revolver or pistol, then repeat with an extra plate using rifle. Juniors pay only $5 so bring the youngsters. Newbies are $10 as usual; Regulars $15.

May ICORE Match

Far & Near plus the 4 classifier stages that were deferred from April.

The Southwest Regional Revolver Championship is almost upon us. It's on Saturday, April 21 and there is still time to drive up and do a "walk-on." Hope to see everyone there.

This year's International Revolver Championship will have the richest prize table ever. Entries are lagging behind last year, so sign up and get in line for the premier event of the shooting year.
